About the Series

The Engrained series explores the harmony between structured design and natural texture. Trained as an architect and based in Colorado, I am constantly inspired by raw building materials. This series pulls plywood out of the construction site and into the spotlight, blending precise geometric forms with organic patterns and modern Western portraiture.

The unpredictable grain lines of the wood panel flow directly through the figure’s silhouette. Substrate forms, texture, and contrast are balanced to create a contemporary approach to Western portraiture.
